Just wanted to let you know that today we put your lessons into practice. I went with Chloe (from the course) to Burbage and we had an AMAZING day.

  • The course covers a wide range of skills to get people started in outdoor climbing. Topics include:

    – Types of trad climbing equipment

    – Placing good protection

    – Building good belays

    – Using guidebooks

    – Seconding/top roping

    These courses are ideal for novice climbing club members, students, parents and individuals who may have had the odd taster of climbing outdoors and wish to gain key safety skills.

  • For this course you’ll need to be able to belay and know how to put a harness on and tie in.

    This course is for over 18s.

  • You will need your own outdoor clothing and footwear including rock shoes.

    Harness, helmet and belay device can be supplied if you do not have your own.

    All ropes and trad gear are provided.

  • Each course meets at Hathersage train station at 9.30am and returns by 5pm.

    We’re out all day so don’t forget you lunch.
