2-Day Cuillin Ridge Traverse Prep, North Wales
DEPOSIT | FULL AMOUNT £340
Do you aspire to complete the Cuillin Ridge Traverse on the Isle of Skye?
This iconic route is one of the most challenging in the UK. From the summit of Gars-bheinn to Sgurr Nan Gillean it is a total of 12km of almost continuous scrambling including up to Severe climbing, abseils and plenty of Grade 3 scrambling.
There is nothing else like it in the UK. In light of this, I’m very careful who I allow to book on my Cuillin Ridge Traverses which I do every May. This is because it is a big undertaking and I want you to have a great time and succeed.
I generally say that to be successful on the ridge people need to have either, Skye scrambling experience (these people will understand what it means to take on a ridge traverse), have climbed alpine routes, or have done specific training in the UK: hence this two day course.
On this course we’ll link grade 2 and 3 scrambling to attempt to replicate the length of the scrambles. The skills we’ll cover include
Tying into a harness
Scrambling and climbing ropework
Abseiling
Downclimbing
Answering lots of questions about the Cuillin Ridge, tactics, bivi kit and much more
